Halton Poverty And Newcomer Awareness Primer

Halton Poverty And Newcomer Awareness Primer

The Halton Poverty Roundtable and Halton Multicultural Council are hosting a Poverty and Newcomer Awareness Primer on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from 6:00-9:00 PM at the Black Box Theatre at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, which is located at 2302 Bridge Road in Oakville, ON. This event is designed to inform candidates in the upcoming federal election from Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills about issues related to poverty and newcomers in the Halton Region.

The event will include panel presentations from local organizations to provide information about the complexity of poverty in the region and contextualize the circumstances of newcomers in Halton. There will also be a period for attendees, including newcomers in Halton, to ask candidates questions about their platforms. The purpose is to create the framework for a laser focus and community dialogue on issues that concern low-income residents and newcomers in the Halton Region.
