Please join us for a Community Town Hall in celebration of the National Housing Day hosted by the Halton Housing Alliance!

  • Come and be inspired by faith groups who have made a difference in the lives of people who are homeless
  • Hear from the Housing at the Region about their successes and planning for the future
  • Learn from Habitat for Humanity about their vision and success
  • Hear from clients who have been homeless and are now settled in their own homes

               COVID, poverty and homelessness – how people are coping

10:15     Region of Halton – Andrew Balahura and Sarah Phillips

               The housing spectrum, the Halton Comprehensive Housing plan and progress to date, plans to move forward in housing in Halton.

10:40     Question and answer period

10:50     Donna Danielli – How Milton Transitional Housing got its start in the faith based community

11:00     Bahaa Amer, President of the Halton Islamic Association

               How the Mosque is helping people who are homeless and in crisis.

11:10      Halton Multicultural Council – Transitional Housing and a client story

                Habitat for Humanity, how the model has changed, current projects and hopes for the future
